Edvard Borneo is a Bergen-based songwriter and visual artist making music at the intersection of American folk, indie rock, and country. Drawing on references such as Blake Mills, Adrienne Lenker, and Bob Dylan, he combines explosive folk songs and melancholic country ballads with lyrically ambitious writing. GAFFA describes his sound as «dreamy and floating, with a slight hint of controlled playfulness.»
His album Party for One (2024) was warmly received by GAFFA, Stavanger Aftenblad, and STOFF, following a winter spent on a farm and ten shows in Austin, Texas. He has performed at venues including USF Verftet and SALT in Bergen, as well as festivals across Norway.
In October 2026, Borneo releases Familiar Hell, a more personal and song-driven follow-up mixed by Kato Ådland, featuring musicians from projects including Metteson, Hannah Storm, and Hedda Mae.
Borneo also creates his own visual output, including album artwork and stage clothing, giving the project a coherent artistic identity that extends beyond the music.
