Kryptograf is a Bergen-based doom rock band blending the raw power of late-60s and early-70s heavy rock with the weight and intensity of modern doom and stoner.
Emerging from Norway’s thriving heavy underground, the band has quickly established itself as one of the country’s most compelling new riff-driven acts, sharing stages with and drawing comparisons to artists such as Motorpsycho, Kanaan, and Hedvig Mollestad, and supporting international acts including Hällas and Spidergawd. Kryptograf has also appeared at key European festivals such as Sonic Whip (NL) and Esbjerg Fuzztival (DK).
Following the critically acclaimed The Eldorado Spell, Kryptograf released their third album, Kryptonomicon (Apollon Records), in 2025. The album was ranked #2 on the Doom Charts Albums of the Year 2025, receiving widespread international praise for its songwriting depth, progressive structures, and vivid storytelling. On Kryptonomicon, the band expands its sound with darker, more intricate arrangements while remaining firmly rooted in their signature vintage-heavy aesthetic.
With a sound inspired by Black Sabbath, Pentagram, Witchcraft, Uncle Acid, and Motorpsycho, Kryptograf balance classic riff traditions with a contemporary edge — a combination that has made them a sought-after live act both in Norway and across Europe.
